Fred Brown owns a red car. The murderer owns a yellow car, so Fred Brown is not the murderer.
The suspect who was wearing orange shoes owns a green car. The suspect who weighs 190 pounds was wearing orange shoes. The suspect who weighs 190 pounds is not the one who was wearing a black shirt. Therefore, one suspect was wearing orange shoes, owns a green car, weighs 190 pounds, and is not the one who was wearing a black shirt. But Brian Edison was wearing tan shoes, Marty Fox was wearing a black shirt, Bill Stevenson weighs 160 pounds, and Fred Brown owns a red car. Therefore, the only suspect who could be this suspect is David Morrison. Since David Morrison owns a green car, he is not the murderer.
The suspect who was wearing red shoes weighs 200 pounds. The suspect who owns a silver car was wearing red shoes. Therefore, one suspect weighs 200 pounds, was wearing red shoes, and owns a silver car. Brian Edison was wearing tan shoes, Bill Stevenson weighs 160 pounds, Fred Brown owns a red car, and David Morrison owns a green car. Therefore, that one suspect is Marty Fox. Since Marty Fox owns a silver car, he is not the murderer.
The suspect who weighs 150 pounds owns a red car. Fred Brown owns a red car. Therefore, Fred Brown weighs 150 pounds. Bill Stevenson weighs 160 pounds, David Morrison weighs 190 pounds, and Marty Fox weighs 200 pounds. Therefore, Brian Edison is the one who weighs 220 pounds. This means that Brian Edison is not the suspect who owns a yellow car. Since Fred Brown owns a red car, David Morrison owns a green car, and Marty Fox owns a silver car, Bill Stevenson must be the one who owns a yellow car. Since the murderer owns a yellow car, Bill Stevenson is the murderer.
